#ILLINOIS POWERING I-74 REST STOP WITH #WIND

The Illinois Department of Transportation installed a wind turbine at the Krisdala Baka rest stop on westbound Interstate 74 just north of Woodhull. The turbine is designed to cut utility costs at the rest area and is predicted to generate between 14,000 and 25,000 kilowatt hours annually. If it is successful, IDOT may expand the program across the state, as reported by the Moline Dispatch/Rock Island Argus.
