ILLINOIS PUMPKIN YIELD COULD BE OFF BY A THIRD

A large canned pumpkin manufacturer says yields in Illinois appear to be less than anticipated this year. Ron O’Hearn is corporate and brand affairs director for Libby’s, which grows most of its pumpkins in central Illinois. O’Hearn said yields may be as much as one third off this year, the Associated Press Reports.

The University of Illinois says 90 % of the pumpkins grown in the U.S. are raised within a 90-mile radius of Peoria.
