U.S. CANADA DAIRY DISPUTE SOURS TRADE NEGOTIATIONS

Because of a decades-old dispute between the U.S. and Canada, dairy is emerging as the thorniest issue souring final talks to conclude a sweeping trade agreement, known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership, linking 12 countries around the Pacific. The U.S. wants Canada to loosen a decades-old system for protecting dairy farmers from imports.
