The USDA reported the H5N2 strain of avian influenza has been confirmed on another poultry farm in Minnesota, and at two more in South Dakota. The bird flu outbreak brought the number of farms infected to 23. The death toll has climbed to more than 1.2 million birds killed by the disease or by authorities scrambling to contain the U.S. outbreak.
