Illinois will harvest a record soybean crop, and a near-record corn harvest, according to USDA’s August crop report.  The August 1 corn objective yield data indicate the highest number of ears on record for the combined 10 objective yield States (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin).  Average yields for corn and soybeans in Illinois will be new records – 188 and 54 bushels per acre.
