2014 Golden Clover Award Winners Honored

Four dedicated supporters of 4-H and the McLean County Fair received recognition as 2014 Golden Clover Award winners.

McLean County Farm Bureau Vice President, Fred Grieder, presented the awards on  Wed., July 30 during the 4-H Royalty Contest at the McLean County Fair.

Evelyn Shiner was honored as a Golden Clover for her work with 4-H as a club leader for 15 years, project judge and past chair of the Visual Arts and Crafts area.

Wes Kingdon received a Golden Clover for his work with 4-H members and years of service as superintendent of the poultry show.

Sandy McGhee-Yanzy received the Special Clover for her work with traditional and urban 4-H programs, 4-H Teen Leadership Program (TILT), UNITY Community Center and Tech Wizards during her 19-year career with Extension.

The Special Clover recognizes past Fair or Extension staff members.

Marlin Hendren was selected as a recipient of the Emerald Clover. He served as a 4-H club leader for more than 20 years and Beef Superintendent for 3 years.

The Emerald Clover is given posthumously to a volunteer who  has not previously received a Golden Clover.  Hendren’s family was present to accept the award.
